Paddy54 Posted June 24, 2022 · Member Share Posted June 24, 2022 (edited) Well once again you resident cherrypicker has eyed something. https://sites.google.com/view/clintcummins/half-dime-attribution-guide The link is a work in progress atribution guide. It was originally started by Mr. Halfdime himself. Now handed over to Clint to finish and run the site. The specimen in question is an 1847 half dime. I believe that it is an R-7 coin. The V2 attribution. If it is what I expect it could be a very nice find as well worth at least 10 to 15 times the price I paid under $90. Do you see square rims? A give away to olxer proof strikes. There are a few examples and you be able to read the data on the year 1847 half dime mintages. Theres also some well know collections spoken of...whom had this variety. If nothing else you will have a good read, and some knowledge of this date and series. The link I suggest to book mark for any future reference. Its really a nice tool.
