Roman Collector Posted July 8, 2023 · Patron Posted July 8, 2023 (edited) I recently purchased this provincial of Crispina from Side in Pamphylia. I wasn't able to find it in any of the standard references and so I submitted it to RPC. As of this morning, it has been added as the exemplar of the issue! It's an obverse die match to RPC IV.3, 25074 (temporary). Crispina, 178-182 CE. Roman provincial Æ 23 .6 mm, 9.68 g, 12 h. Pamphylia, Side, 178-182 CE. Obv: ΚΡΙϹΠΙΝΑ ϹЄΒΑϹΤΗ, bare-headed and draped bust, right. Rev: ϹΙΔΗΤΩΝ, Tyche standing facing, head left, holding rudder and cornucopiae. Refs: RPC IV.3, 25074 (temporary); BMC --; Mionnet --; Sear GIC --; Lindgren I --; Wiczay --. Edited September 28 by Roman Collector Fix a broken link 17 3 1 1 1 Quote
Marsyas Mike Posted July 9, 2023 · Member Posted July 9, 2023 Congratulations on the rare find, @Roman Collector Although not a Faustina, or Side, this one is from Pamphylia, and like yours, it seems to be unpublished, except for the Wildwinds example. Perhaps I should submit it to RPC? Diadumenian Æ 17 Sillyum, Pamphylia (c. 217-218 A.D.)
