Al Kowsky Posted May 20, 2023 · Member Share Posted May 20, 2023 John, Those coins are so small I hope you don't lose them 😂. Why the interest in these tiny almost weightless coins 🤔?
panzerman Posted May 20, 2023 · Member Author Share Posted May 20, 2023 Al/ I keep them in SAFLIPS/ never ever handle any of my stuff/ I find these kinda neat. However back at the mint site/ I can imagine trying to hammer such teeny weeny coins. I read that all the known exs (3) were found on three different find sites in Italy. That is now my smallest coin/ even tinier then the 1/32 Dukat or 1/4 Fanams.

I'm not surprised with the rarity of these coins, many of them were probably lost or melted down into larger more practical coins at a later date 😉.
Benefactor DonnaML Posted May 21, 2023 · Benefactor Benefactor Share Posted May 21, 2023 Wow. You describe the first one as "0.74mm. 6.25g." Are you sure it isn't 6.25 mm. and 0.74 g.? 6.25 g. would be very impressive for a coin less than 1 millimeter in diameter!
