Seriously cool, @panzerman; also fun just for demonstrating how quickly the Iberian kings started imitating some elements of French gold coins.

Here are some from the other end of the spectrum, both for chronology and denomination.


Sancho Ramirez, King of Aragon 1063-1094.  (From 10 o'clock:) SAN@CIVS REX; /'Tree of Life;' above, ARA /GON.'


Pedro I, King 1094-1104.  Same design, but check out Pedro's 'man bun.'
