maridvnvm Posted March 18 · Member Share Posted March 18 (edited) Honestly, I have tried to give up collecting FEL TEMP REPARATIO types and haven't bought a Fallen Horseman in months, I am trying to give up this nasty habit to let me concentrate on my primary collecting themes. I have fallen of the wagon however and am here to admit that I have bought another one to add to the hoard. When I was gathering these I was being drawn towards the early issues. I saw this one and was drawn back in to this nasty habit. Constantius II - AE2 Obv:– D N CONSTANTIVS P F AVG, Pearl diademed, draped, cuirassed bust right Rev:– FEL TEMP RE-PARATIO, Helmeted soldier left, shield on left arm, spearing falling horseman; shield at ground to right. Horseman falls forward. He is wearing a Phrygian cap Minted in Cyzicus (/ SMKB) Reference:- RIC VIII Cyzicus 65 (R) Dard, Red encrustations on the edge. My name is Martin and I am a coinaholic. expat Posted March 18 · Member Share Posted March 18 A nice addiction, sorry I meant addition. When I started collecting ancients 9 months ago, I knew I wanted one of those types, (but 1 only). Picked this up for 5 Euros a while back.

Martin, Your AE 2 is a sharp strike with an excellent portrait, so I can see why you snagged it 😏. How many of the "fallen Horsemen" type are in your hoard now 🤔? My only example is posted below. 10
Orange Julius Posted March 18 · Member Share Posted March 18 (edited) That's a nice coin! I love how it shows its age with some colorful encrustations that do not obscure any of the details. Below's the only photo of a Cyzicus FH that I have handy. I call this my David Bowie Fallen Horseman due to the blue/green makeup Constantius wears across his eyes. This coin is a bit later than yours but it's still a nice large and heavy coin with some pretty colors. Benefactor Ancient Coin Hunter Posted Tuesday at 03:56 PM · Benefactor Benefactor Share Posted Tuesday at 03:56 PM (edited) About 80 fallen horsemen. Because of that I'll share my change of pace coin. (Antioch mint) This coin also is FEL TEMP REPARATIO but depicts a rising radiate Phoenix atop a globe.
