savitale Posted January 10, 2023 · Member Posted January 10, 2023 Hi everyone! I just found this site. Last year I posted some of my Roman coins on the CoinTalk forum under the same username (but different profile picture). It seems that some of the conversation has migrated over here for some reason. I do like that this site has categories for different flavors of ancient numismatics. Here is a somewhat recent new acquisition. I tend to buy only a handful of coins per year. Severus Alexander. AD 222-235. AR Denarius (20.5mm, 3.23 g, 6h). Rome mint. 15th emission, AD 232. Laureate bust right, slight drapery / Providentia (or Annona) standing left, holding cornucopia and grain ears over modius filled with grain ears to left. RIC IV 250; BMCRE 875-8; RSC 501b. Lustrous, short flan crack. EF. Struck on a broad flan. [Description from CNG] 28 1 2 Quote
