Nerosmyfavorite68 Posted September 28, 2022 · Member Share Posted September 28, 2022 Miracle of miracles, the order from the dealer referenced in the Basilikon thread arrived. To be fair, all coins were very carefully packed and they were true to the pictures. I bought it because it was neat-looking. Can anyone ID the saint and/or some of the reverse legend? Probably the nicest coin of the lot, Antiochus IX. Antiochos IX Philopator (Kyzikenos). 114-95 BC. 5.4 gr 18.3mm That is, assuming it's not misattributed. That dealer has a lot of misattributed items. I'd have to give them a D- for shipping (took 17 days to mail out) and an A for the coins, the price I paid, and care of shipping.
TheTrachyEnjoyer Posted September 28, 2022 · Member Share Posted September 28, 2022 Arch angel Michael on the obverse? If so, presumably issued by a Michael? Although I do not (yet) have experience with lead seals, I own some of the literature. If you or someone can provide a transcription and/or transliteration, I will be able to find the entry in Zacos etc
