Roman Collector Posted September 13, 2022 · Patron Share Posted September 13, 2022 If anyone has Lindgren I, I'd really appreciate it if you'd look up a coin of Faustina II from Syedra in Cilicia with Tyche/Fortuna standing left. I'm by no means sure it's even listed in the book. Please let me know. Thanks!
akeady Posted September 13, 2022 · Supporter Share Posted September 13, 2022 I can look in a few hours, if you have no other takers! ATB, Aidan.
shanxi Posted September 14, 2022 · Supporter Share Posted September 14, 2022 (edited) Not Lindgren I, ( I have only II and III), but this might be interresting: https://www.academia.edu/37607914/Syedra_Tarihi_ve_Sikkeleri_History_and_Coinage_of_Syedra S66 is Faustina II with a standing Tyche Edited September 14, 2022 by shanxi 2

Curtis JJ Posted September 14, 2022 · Supporter Share Posted September 14, 2022 (edited) That type doesn't appear to be in Lindgren I (including the Addenda section to Lindgren I). Syedra is short (1606-1612, plus addenda: A1608B, A1609A), so I photographed it all (including at least one other Faustina II [1608A] in case it was misidentified). Lindgren may not have had one, since it wasn't a totally comprehensive collection. If you do think he had one, maybe it was in Lindgren III? Or possibly IDed to a different city? (He had many corrections, which are indicated in the errata published in each volume; nothing relevant I can see vol. I errata.) (Note: I didn’t try to size the two photos from the Addenda to the same scale as the main plate.) IanG Posted September 14, 2022 · Member Share Posted September 14, 2022 I think you can probably gather this from the above but just for clarity I have all 3 Lindgren volumes and I can't find the coin you are looking for in any of them.
