This is probably my coin of Augustus with the most interesting reverse. It depicts the Curia Julia, the Roman senate house, which was built by Julius Caesar. Caesar's Curia replaced the former Curia Cornelia which was restored by Faustus Cornelius Sulla. The curia's completion by Octavian was commemorated in his Res Gestae and also on this coin.

Nice wins. I won coins of Germanicus and Probus....I've included CNG's photograph of the former, as that is what sold me on the coin. You're right that Kunker's photos aren't the greatest.....most of the coins I've purchased from Kunker had prior auction photos for me to refer to. If someone has a copy of the Jean Elsen Sale 58 (1999), could you please PM me a photo or scan of lot 1196 including the listing? I would be eternally grateful! 

Congrats on your wins everyone! I was the underbidder on all 3 of my targets, including @Julius Germanicus’ Macrinus. I bid in the last 5 seconds for all three lots and was sniped at the 1 second mark. Oh well…there’ll be other auctions I suppose. I’ve never had particularly good luck with Leu so I shouldn’t be too surprised. 😞

I sent an email to them. I won a lot, but it is after lot 240. As @robinjojo said, it is completely unfair if a live bidder makes a bid and wins, only for the lot to be reopened. 

It's part of Bulgari's monete jewellery collection. Some of the regular pieces are viewable on their website https://www.bulgari.com/en-int/jewellery/monete. In most cases, they use lower-grade common coins. I cannot however clearly see whether the OP coin falls into this category. I do agree that the coin in question is a Divus Augustus as issued by Tiberius. IMO the markup for a mounted piece of junk is quite ridiculous. Bulgari does, however, sometimes use exceptional coins, which irks me. I posted about their use of Constantinian multiples for watches in this thread

Nice addition @Al Kowsky Your Maximinus has a solid portrait and a beautiful uniform dark patina.....your Maximus is a standout piece. I was hoping to pick up a sestertius of Maximus with the same reverse as yours, but I settled with the example below.

I monitored the sale. I had a few targets in this auction but didn't bother with them because I already picked up a piece at CNG this week, and Heritage a few weeks earlier. My targets were all in the Aes Augustorum segment. While the auction achieved solid hammer prices overall, the pieces I wanted only gained one or two additional bids from the pre-bidding....oh well 🙃

Here's my example of the type which I added not too long ago. The verism of the portraiture is really what attracted me to this type.

Like others, my collection ends with Honorius. Here’s my only coin of the emperor: a solidus from Mediolanum (Milan). Despite the odd flan, I thought the strike and style were superior for the issue. The reverse depicts the emperor trampling on a seated Barbarian captive - an ironic statement given the emperor’s incompetence in military affairs.

I recently acquired a dream architectural coin...however, I will wait to post it until it arrives.

Here's my follis of Crispus, eldest son of Constantine I.

This is probably the cheapest coin in my entire collection, but I'm still very fond of it. It has beautiful strikes on both sides and decent silvering.

I imagine that Constantine will have the most entries out of all the emperors given the abundance and accessibility of his coinage. Here's my contribution.

I purchased 2 abafil trays at NYINC because they were on sale and I figured why not, might be fun to make displays with some of my coins every so often. However, I do not store them in this way; my coins are usually in SAflips in boxes.

Nice addition, @DonnaML Aquileia is more difficult to acquire than mints such as Trier, Lugdunum...etc..

Here's my most recent siliqua. I wanted this coin, which was sitting in a dealer's inventory, for over a year. I never purchased it because I thought the price was absurd. I spoke with the dealer before the August ANA show, and he assured me he would bring his full inventory of ancients to the show. Fast forward to the show, and when I go to his table he already locked up the all ancients (with the exception of a few aurei) and wouldn't let me see them. A few weeks later, the coin disappeared from the dealer's website. When I saw this coin pop up in a recent Stack's auction with other items from that dealer's inventory, I knew I had to win it. Unfortunately, I only saved $100 or so when fees and shipping are taken into account. Nevertheless, I'm very happy to have the coin.

Something sort of similar happened to me with a Kuenker auction about 2 years ago. I was interested in a solidus in their fall sale. The opening bid was low, and I threw in a few bids, but kept getting outbid....I thought ok, why not throw in one more bid....I did, and then the screen froze for a solid 5-7 seconds. The screen then said something to the effect that I was winning, the only problem is that my winning bid was 1,200 euro over my intended max....I began to panic since the coin was not attracting any additional bids and it began to close....3,2....just before it hit 1, someone else threw in one final bid and I was saved....
