  5. Nice acquisition. Obverse struck in a good relief and the video shows the patina to its best advantage. Lovely coin.

    Certainly food for thought. Like the mythological bird Phoenix, it could be readying for regeneration, rebranding and re-emerging as a new entity.

  9. Here is an Antoninus Pius with numerous die cracks forming on the reverse between legend and border. The most striking though starts at the last O of CONSECRATIO, up to the altar, then from the top of alter to the underside of the eagle, and continues from the top of the eagles shoulder to its beak.   10. The engraving of his dies was certainly impressive. Certainly not surprising that they are collectible. To my understanding I believe I have 1 fake. I base this on the extensive list of images of this type, even though there is not an example that exactly matches a die shown on the list of fakes. Histiaia.   15. A lovely collection @Ryro I don´t have any of those types in my collection. You would think that Hercules with his awesome body and incredible strength would be shown as more endowed than on this coin of Commodus. Looks like a doorbell

Marcus Cocceius Nerva was Roman emperor from 96 to 98. He was born November 8, 30 AD, and died January 27, 98 AD. Nerva became emperor when aged almost 66, after a lifetime of imperial service under Nero and the succeeding rulers of the Flavian dynasty. Under Nero, he was a member of the imperial entourage and played a vital part in exposing the Pisonian conspiracy of 65.

This is one of the main characteristics which distinguishes this coin from RIC 315 from Cologne, on which the hair is in more or less straight lines.)
