  3. Thanks for the welcome Spaniard nice result well done, i have cleaned bronzes using the the same method with similar results but like you say different methods for silver, i have never cleaned a coin with iron oxide on before reason for my initial post.
  4. I didn't get a answer to my question i asked how to remove iron oxide do you see a post explaning how to remove it "NO"
  5. The above pictures was from yesterday evening i am now at this stage the reverse is pretty much finished, i will tone the coin once cleaning is finished.
  6. Sorry i asked for advice and how to clean iron oxide from a coin and received no answers, i also was polite to thank you for allowing me to join and didn't receive one welcome message i presumed a cleaning thread was taboo, Regardless for anyone with interest i am manually cleaning with a thorn and soaking the Stephen penny in lemon juice it;s a rare coin with only 13 recorded slowly but surely getting there.
  7. Great thread good information setups coins and pictures, I keep things quite simple i use a Olympus Tough TG-6 with a light diffuser attachment, just a quick shot freehand i could improve on this with a tripod and using photo stacking but pictures like this are good enough for my needs.
