Those are great coins for being first ancients. And Tom is one of the good ones to buy from too. Congrats and welcome to a hopefully long and enjoyable hobby.

My grandfather had a coin collection and left it to my Dad, who dabbled in it, only to get serious after he retired. Since he's passed, it was given to me & I continue the tradition.

No, I haven't tried this forum on a phone or tablet. Hopefully, someone else can answer that for you.

Cointalk: Long time lurker. Lot's of content & activity, but too much arguing over the silliest of things. Almost like a school play yard. Immaturity among many of the members.

NumisForums: OK so far, trying to be a bit more active then lurking.

To me, it looks like a powdery Patina, which is fairly common. Try taking a toothpick and picking at it, if it doesn't move, your OK. If not, toss it in some distilled water and pick at it some more.

There is internet searches to treating it in various ways.
