Another black toning I quite like too : not just the white color matters 😄

Nice to see you here @Orfew
And what pleases me the most is to see here so many people I would have imagined moving in such a saddening situation

At the same coinshow in Lyon I was talking about in this other topic
I acquired another RR denarius that I like very much for its style and black patina, even though it has not the perfect centering one would expect

I was hoping you would unload some Dombes Bombs
You asked ...
Here's a virtual tray of the whole bunch to date :
To make it more precise and clear to all about how rare they are :
1st row, left to right : Jean II franc à cheval (6 known) ; Pierre II franc à cheval (17 to 20 known in two types with a minor obverse legend variation)
2nd row : Louis II pistole 1578 (50+ known) ; Louis II pistole 1579 (unique to date) ; Louis II demi-pistole 1576 (unique to date)
3rd row : Louis II demi-pistole 1578 (50+ known) ; Louis II demi-pistole 1579/8 (<5 known) : Francois II pistole 1587 (the best of 2 known)
4th row : Gaston d'Orleans pistole 1640 (5 known, Gaston d'Orleans écu 1641 (probably 20+ known) ; Anne Marie Louise d'Orleans sequin (probably 20+ known)

Is anyone here trying to get all the silver sestertius types? Would be quite a challenge...
I wouldn't even think of it !
At some point I considered building a quinarii series, and immediately after I have bought Kathy King's book I knew I wouldn't even try. And I have the impression quinarii are easy in comparison to sestertii
My only sestertius : Roma seems in a hurry, almost gone when the pic was shot 😄
Republic, Sestertius - Rome mint, ca 211-208 BC
