  1. Nice set here! It's cool to see so many different types of these struck cash coins.
  2. Just chiming in, this is correct and it is a genuine example. These were struck rather than cast, unusual for Chinese cash, and it was minted close to the end of the Qing Dynasty. Edit: here's my example!

  12. I have this 1918 10 Pfennig from Weißenfels of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It's one of the earliest hammer and sickle designs on a coin (I think somewhere in South America had an 1800s coin with it) but if I recall correctly this coin's hammer and sickle isn't necessarily related to Communism. 1918 | 10 Pfennig Weißenfels of Saxony-Anhalt

  17. Here is a failed kingdom-state from a failed rebel leader along with his failed rebel grandson. Essentially he was a military leader during the Ming Dynasty and allowed and assisted the neighboring Manchu people of Manchuria to invade and capture parts of China, eventually leading to the complete collapse of the Ming Court and the start of a quarter millennium of Manchu rule over China by the Qing Dynasty. He later tried to rebel against the Qing Court, making him a double-traitor- a pretty unique title. Here's an excerpt from Wikipedia which can explain better than I can. 23. This coin was made by the more-or-less sovereign Chinese gold mining communities (gongsi) of west Borneo in present-day Indonesia during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. The obverse inscription is a unique and meaningful invention for community but the reverse inscription is blundered and unreadable, copied crudely from contemporary Qing Dynasty coins which bore Manchu script mintmarks. This coin is not really an imitation coin, but it in certainly imitative! Next: same theme
