Roman Collector Posted May 10 · Patron Share Posted May 10 This book is about one of the largest discoveries of Roman denarii in Poland. Because it is a museum publication in the public interest, it has been made available to the public as a free download in PDF format. 4
Sulla80 Posted May 10 · Supporter Share Posted May 10 (edited) Thanks, @Roman Collector from a quick browse this looks like an interesting download - I was drawn to some of the discussions about barbarous holed, and plugged denarii: Holed denarii were not uncommon in barbarian regions. The process of drilling was precise, avoiding damage to the coin's imagery or text, suggesting that these holes were likely used for wearing the coins as pendants or for other decorative purposes. One coin with an unfinished hole even suggesting that it was a clockwise drill used. Edited May 10 by Sulla80
