thenickelguy Posted July 8, 2022 · Member Share Posted July 8, 2022 In advance, I thank you for your patience with me. The description says it is Hera, but I can't find any in wildwinds with Hera at all. I looked everywhere for an hour to find one like it. No soap. I think it is Julia Domna What do you think. I got this cheap and it is not yet in hand. Best I could do with tiny pictures in a flip picture. I will photograph it myself when it arrives. Here is the card that comes with it. I know there's not much to go on here. Sorry
shanxi Posted July 8, 2022 · Supporter Share Posted July 8, 2022 (edited) IMHO Hera is OK. But could it be Nikopolis? Beside of PROC I can't read much. https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pid=65246 Edited July 8, 2022 by shanxi 1
thenickelguy Posted July 8, 2022 · Member Author Share Posted July 8, 2022 Thank you, I am sure I'll be able to read at least one more letter when it gets here.
thenickelguy Posted July 9, 2022 · Member Author Share Posted July 9, 2022 (edited) You know what shanxi I think you nailed it right off the bat. I looked at a lot of Caracalla coins since you posted and I am going to settle on that description for now. But it might be this too and the seller did not describe correctly. From Wildwinds Caracalla Æ28 of Nikopolis ad Istrum. Legate Flavius Ulpianus. Obv: AVT K M AVPH ANTWNEINOC, laureate bust right Rev: V FL OVLPIAN NIKOPOLIT PROC I, Hera standing left, veiled, holding patera & scepter.
