  1. The Triumvirs. Mark Antony. 42 BC. AR Denarius. Military mint traveling with Antony in Greece. Bare head right / Facing head of Sol on disk within distyle temple. Crawford 496/1; CRI 128; Sydenham 1168; RSC 12.
  2. Link: cross Constans II, with Constantine IV. 641-668. AV Solidus (20mm, 4.44 g, 6h). Constantinople mint, 10th officina. Struck 654-659. Crowned and draped facing busts of Constans, wearing long beard, and Constantine; cross between / Cross potent set on three steps; I//CONOB. DOC (25j); MIB 26; SB 959.
  3. Finally was able to land a *partial* Claudius denarius. The coin has a clear issue but other then that is of a great style. I paid about 250 for it which I don't believe is that bad considering worse style and quite worn ones can go for 700+ .
  4. Been a while since I did a v-coins purchase. I'm always quite fond of Trajan and found it to have a lovely bust. Trajan. AD 98-117. AR Denarius (18.5mm, 3.3g,). Rome mint. Struck circa AD 110. Laureate bust right, slight drapery / Roma standing left, holding Victory and spear.
  5. Another sestertius of my favorite Emperor.😄 The laureate emperor on the right "TI CLAUDIUS CAESAR AVG PMTRP IMP" - Reverse: in an oak wreath "EXS C OB CIVES SERVATOS" - Cohen 39, RC 1849
  6. Managed to pick up this budget example that will go well with the female version I have. The obverse portrait has sometimes been identified as the famous chief of the Arverni, Vercingetorix, whom Julius Caesar captured in 52 BC in Alesia. L. Hostilius Saserna AR Denarius. Rome, 48 BC. Head of Gallic captive to right; [Gallic shield behind] / Two warriors in biga to right: one driving, holding whip and reins, and the other, facing backward, holding shield and brandishing spear; [L•HOSTILIVS] above, SAS[ERN] below.   7. A provincial coin from Spain of Tiberius that I picked up for the legionary countermark. next: Legion countermark or a bust/face countermark

  11. Saw this come by on eBay and decided to bid, won it quite cheap at 83 euro. It was a type i've been wanting for a long time and the condition could be better but still somewhat presentable 😛 Trajan. AD 98-117. Æ Sestertius. Rome mint. Struck circa AD 104-107. Laureate bust right, slight drapery / Arched, single-span bridge with seven posts across Danube River; single-bay arches at either end, surmounted by statues; boat sailing left in river below.   13. Picked up these Ambiani gallic wars staters. Love the history behind these even though they are very plain 😃. The difference between the two in gold content is quite easy to tell.
