  1. I originally wanted this one as it has a nice Seluekid anchor countermark and was marked as Mysia Permagon, but it appears to be a Seleukid Kings of Syria coin. SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Antiochos III 'the Great', 222-187 BC. AE (Bronze, 19 mm, 7 g), 198-187 BCE. Obv. Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Corinthian helmet. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟΥ Nike standing front, head to left, holding wreath in outstretched right hand and palm in left; c/m: Seleukid anchor within oval incuse, obscuring the control. SC 1095.2.
  2. I picked up a nice Publius Satrienus Denarius today from the local guy at the Flohmarkt. Nice details on the She-wolf. I have the Harlan, which dates this to 73BC where the other sources list it as 77BC. Also some debate on if it is Roma on the obv. or Mars, as was indicated by the dealer and in Harlan. P. Satrienus, 77 BC. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.69 g), Rome. Helmeted head of Roma (Mars?)to right; behind, ⊥XXXVIII. Rev. ROMA / P SATRIE/NVS She-wolf advancing left, raising her right forepaw. Crawford 388/1b. RBW 1422 var. Sydenham 781a.
  3. I guess it all depends on which country in the EU, but I am an expat currently living in Germany. Been buying coins from all over Europe (and occasionally the US) and have not really had problems. Spain and Italy are very strict with export. I've bought from Numismatik Naumann, expecting a delay, and finding the coins delivered within a week of payment. I will eventually need to move back to North America, and will be taking the collection with me. That should be fun. It seems that taking valuable items on aircraft with you would invite scrutiny with customs officials. Documentation may be necessary and if a large collection is being moved, that may be difficult. If in household goods, I hardly think they would be noticed.
