  1. Hi Again, I have spent a good ament of time reading some online references. I am totally convinced that the piece I have is minted from Electrum (sure with very low percentage of gold as it got its yellowish colour from copper). As per this Article: https://sites.google.com/site/washtenawjustice/numismatics/electrum "The last electrum of Carthage, 218 to 202BC, was 26% to 31% gold" Electrum coin specific gravity can vary depending on % of Copper, Silver and Gold, and evidently it can be less than 10. I have find this piece (Weight: 8.950 grammes, the exact double weight of the one I have) listed on the British Museum collection: https://www.britishmuseum.org/collection/object/C_1986-0113-4
  2. Great, yes I have seen some articles about the Coinage location debate especially during the Punic era. I am trying to navigate into this topic to better understand the different mechanism. The trouble is, there is many studies done in the North African side comparing to the ones done in the European side. Thank you
  3. I agree, there is some similarities. As you listed, the one you share was minted in Spain (Punic era).. the one I have I think was minted in North Africa maybe same third century BC
  4. I assume, there is some similarities. I can't confirm if it is a higher denomination of the one your shared. Thank you
  5. Thank you Aidan, This is really helpful, I calculated the specific gravity at home, It might be more or less 8.5. I though it was Electrum due its goldish color and the quality of it surface. I am trying to find a match for this same coin, this is what I was looking for, at least I can have a definitive idea about it.. I wonder if there is a way to find it, I came across many publications, but no success. Again, thank you!
  6. Hi, I am new here, I have recently bought this coin from a trustful byer. I have tried to do some preliminary researches, but I am not able to verify & classify this piece. As I don't have the expertise and material to get more details about it.. I am wondering if there is any one who can help on this. I am attaching this photo along some details of this coin, I am open for further details Thank you
