Levinson lists it as an R-6, unique, or uncollectable. 1494 VII-7a. Bologna mint. This is the first Early Dated copper Italian coin. the easiest to obtain of the 12 Early Dated Italian coins. II-101a, Frey 299, Delmonte 81 1488 II-101b Brabant Duchy, Malines mint. John Baumgart "Messy Desk" chose this coin to be pictured for March in his 2023 calendar.   10. These two pieces are from the Schoonvorst mint. There is a piece dated 1372 located in a museum. There are others with dates from 1390-1394. The two I'm showing are the most common. The other dates are known by 2-3 pieces each. The dates are in Roman numerals from 6 o'clock thru 12. Lev. II-3 Frey 8, Menadier 14

  15. Obv. X ERA MCCIIII Rev. TOLETVM This piece is an Obol. There is also a denaro known. Dated 1204 of the Safar Era, 1166 A.D. by the calendar we use today. This coin commemorates Alfonso VIII retaking the thrown of Castile from his uncle Ferdinand II of Leon. Baptist-310 Abm-208 Except for a dinaro of billion with the same date, it will 200 years before another European coin will have a date.
