Rand Posted January 7 · Supporter Posted January 7 4/ Gallienus joint reign with Valerian I 153-60AD 8/Licinius I 308-24AD 16/ Axumite Empire Congratulations on the nice collection 2024! I find the history and coins of the Axumite Empire quite enigmatic. I would love to have a tremissis from 491-518... hopefully the sequence and dating of the rulers and their coins continues to improve. 1 Quote
Svessien Posted January 7 · Member Posted January 7 All of them are fantastic coins, so hard to make a pick. But I really like the Sasanian dinara. Interesting reverse! 1 Quote

Di Nomos Posted January 7 · Member Posted January 7 They are all great. But narrowing it down to my collection focus (Greek), my favourite is the Barke three-quarter obol. So small, but so much detail. I would happily add that to my collection. Now I need to get back to work. Answered a call on my mobile and ended up browsing Numis Forums again! 2 1 Quote
CPK Posted January 7 · Supporter Posted January 7 My favorite is definitely the Gallienus Aureus! What a spectacular coin, not just in exquisite style and top condition, but a Calico plate coin and unique! 😮 Runners-up would be the Vespasian aureus and the Philip I tetradrachm. But they are all magnificent coins - congratulations on a great year of collecting! 1 Quote
sand Posted January 8 · Member Posted January 8 @panzerman You acquired many interesting ancient coins in 2024. My favorite is Coin # 2 Kyrenaika AV 1/10 Stater. My 2nd favorite is Coin # 6 Kyrenaika AV 1/10 Stater. My 3rd favorite is Coin # 11 Kushan Empire AV Quarter Dinara. 1 Quote

A lot of beautifull exs rest in Italian collections from when Abysinnia/ Eritrea/ Somaliland where Italian colonies. 1 Quote

Thanks Di Nomos/ I understand with work/ I am unemployed now/ but was full bore just 5 weeks ago🤐 I have to thank a "Cointalk" friend for posting the V-coins ad on forum. I saw it and took 5 secs to press buy button. Coin is even nicer in person, I ended up getting three other beautifull AV Kyrene 1/10 Staters from Cleopatra numismatics. All were fantastic in Hand (saflip) Quote

Teutonburger always send "unsold" lists after auction/ I scrolled the lists and found that aureus/ luckily I got it. The tetradrachm was from the new NFA. 1 Quote

Nerosmyfavorite68 Posted January 8 · Member Posted January 8 Unfortunately not matching up the text to the pictures makes it tough on ones I'm not familiar with. They're all excellent, but for three I'll vote the Gallienus Aureus, the Sasanian dinar, and the Basil II. Very nicely done! 1 Quote
