Robi Posted January 1 · Member Posted January 1 (edited) Happy New Year for All🎄🎉 Need help with this one coin. I think it can be from roman Egypt (Alexandria or maybe nomes? Pelusion) 16 mm, 2,71 g. Obverse: Bearded head to left (Aelius or Lucius Verus?) Reverse: not recognizable for me (pomegranate?) Thank You for your help!   Edited January 1 by Robi 1 Quote
Orange Julius Posted January 1 · Member Posted January 1 (edited) Gives off Lucius Verus vibes to me too. Here are the Dichalkon (this denomination) coins listed in Emmett for the following: Aelius: None listed Marcus Aurelius: Lucius Verus: Of any of them, the Flower coin 2265 for MA looks the most promising (although I haven’t looked up an image yet). I didn’t look at the Nomes listings yet and will take a look later. Edited January 1 by Orange Julius 1 Quote
Robi Posted January 1 · Member Author Posted January 1 (edited) @Orange Julius Thank You very much for your help! Unfortunately, I do not have Emmet's catalog and I cannot find this MA item in the auction archives. I noticed that the head is to the left on the obverse (from what I saw, it is rather to the right on dichalkons) So would appreciate if You check out the photo! All the best in the new 2025!
