Benefactor kirispupis Posted January 1 · Benefactor Benefactor Posted January 1 As I wait the last few hours of 2024, I wanted to wish all my friends here a Happy New Year and wish you health, happiness, and lots of great coins (unless they’re 4th century BCE rare Greek bronzes) in 2025! Thought I’d post the last coin received in 2024. I debated posting my last purchased but since I haven’t received it yet I don’t want to jinx things. Cyclades, Paros Late 3rd-mid 2nd centuries BCE AE 12mm 1.57g Goat standing right/ Barley ear of five grains, A to right SNG Copenhagen 719 Please show your last coin(s) received in 2024! 12 Quote

panzerman Posted January 1 · Member Posted January 1 Wish Everyone a Wonderfull 2025! My last coin/ sent by Artemide auctions on November 22nd. But/ we had a 5 week long postal strike in the Great White North/ so my coin arrived yesterday/ courtesy of my lovely mail lady. Best thing it got thru customs without me getting dinged 13% on $$$$$ coin. Note how this TPG firm actually makes a decent data label/ US ones should take heed! 5 1 2 1 Quote
sand Posted January 1 · Member Posted January 1 (edited) Happy New Year! @kirispupis That's an interesting bronze coin from the Cyclades. @Robi That's an interesting coin of Elagabalus from Syria. @panzerman That's a beautiful and interesting gold coin from northern Italy. Here's my last acquisition of 2024. It arrived on New Year Eve. It's a tetradrachm from the mysterious kingdom of Elymais, which was on the northern shore of the Persian Gulf, long long ago. Elymais. Uncertain Early Arsakid King. AE Tetradrachm. Minted 49 BC To 149 AD. Van't Haaff Type 10.3.1-2B. Maximum Diameter 27 mm. Weight 15.11 grams. Obverse : Bust Facing Left With Long Beard, Anchor On Right, Crescent Moon Above Anchor, Star Within Crescent Moon. Reverse : Highly Degenerate Bust, Crude Indications Of Legend.
