While browsing through CNG Triton XXVIII, Session 6 offerings, I stumbled on lot 6461, two gold medals made for the 1958 World's Fair from Brussels, Belgium, that depict a little boy taking a piss 🤣! Now I've seen it all 🙄....

There is nothing weird - is is a world-famous statue commemorating a battle in 1142. This statue here was designed in 1619, its origin is much earlier.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manneken_Pis

It is especially famous for being decorated in various outfits on special occasions.
Taken from Wikipedia - Manneken-Pis as Dracula or Adolphe Sax

Without regards to the history of the statue, it's a strange image to grace a medal commemorating an international exposition. I'm sure even a small country like Belgium, would want to be remembered by a more appropriate image than a boy pissing 🤔.

When I was little the local mall had a copy of that statue in the middle of the mall. Never seemed odd to me until later. If I remember correctly it was right outside the pizza restaurant.

Manneken Pis is as famous in Brussels as the tour Eiffel in Paris or the statue of Liberty in New-York.

Smaller and less spectacular, I have to agree 😄

This unique sculpture is located outside of the Franz Kafka Museum in Prague. The streams can be programmed to spell out phrases in the pool of water (which is in the shape of Czechia).
