Mystery #1: This AE 3.65g 15mm coin minted in Gazna (Tye 190) from Muʿizz al-Dīn Muḥammad ibn Sām (died March 15, 1206, Damyak, India) was the Ghurid conqueror of the north Indian plain and was one of the founders of Muslim rule in India. He presided the peak of Khwarezmian power and can be blamed for the catastrophic fall with the Mongol invasion. More here: https://www.sullacoins.com/post/consequences-of-insulting-the-khan Obv: كرز in the center of the coin is the first half of the mint name krz-wan (Kurzuwan) starting from about 5pm and going anticlockwise the legend reads: ضرب (Daraba): "struck" or "minted". علاء الدنيا والدين (Ala' Ad-Dunya wa Ad-Din): "The Glory of the World and Religion". السلطان الأعظم (As-Sultan Al-A'zam): "The Greatest Sultan". Rev: وان in the center of the coin is the second half of the mint name krz-wan (Kurzuwan) starting from about 2pm and going anticlockwise the legend reads: أبو الفتح (Abu al-Fath): "Father of Victory," an honorific title commonly used by rulers or military leaders to signify their achievements or authority. محمد بن السلطان (Muhammad ibn al-Sultan): "Muhammad, son of the Sultan." تاقيش (Taqish) father of Muhammad The first coin with it's simple legends is easier to read - the second on takes (at least for me) a leap of faith to see the full text in either of the legends - especially the Obv.
