Finished adding datelines/timelines to my website!

First, I should qualify things by explaining that I already have timelines on my site, so I needed to come up with another word and settled for datelines. But, most of you would recognize both of these as "timelines".

As you view these, keep in mind that I only added entries related to coins I have. Therefore, you won't see much for Roman Republican times (because I don't own a single coin) and Tiberius and Caligula are sparse since I haven't picked up an example of either. The same is the case for Sparta, since I'm waiting on the right coin.

Entering each of these tidbits of information has taken me several months and there are multiple ways to view it.

If you would like the complete shebang, check out 9000 years of history divided into over 3400 entries here!

Otherwise, for those of you who are primarily interested in Romans, check out this list.

If you're into Philip II, Alexander III, and the Diadochi, you'll like this list.

For those who prefer to focus on the cities, I have this list.

I also have one focused on the kingdoms after Alexander.

There are also smaller datelines for individual pages. For example, here's Julius Caesar, Athens, or Alexander the Great.

Finally, if by some chance you only care about a region, I have lists there too. For example, here's the Troad.

I hope you enjoy this resource as much as I had in putting it together. I learned a tremendous amount about history, but now it's time to go say "hi" to my wife again after working on this downstairs for the last few months.

Lastly, here's a recent addition to my collection, since posts should have photos of coins.

Fantastic result since last time we spoke, very well done, and clear readability! Maybe add small thumbnails as next thing to the dates where you have a coin that can represent?

Thanks! I did look into adding thumbnails, but the only way I found to do that was to add elements to the page that are then visible on a mouse over. With the number of coins I have, that would add 25 MB to the page download. I could potentially insert the dynamically in JavaScript, but WordPress makes that challenging.

Ahh yeah you might not want to make the site superslow. I moved away from wordpress as their platform made it so hard to customize different themes.
