My top coins of 2024

I added a lot of new pieces this year that I really enjoy. These are in no particular order.

1. Nero As looks like Victory is traveling through a sandstorm!

2. Tiberius Tribute Penny I just like the portrait

3. Menander I drachm nice details 

4. Brutus Lictors denarius iconic type very cool historical link to the other Brutus who helped transform the Roman kingdom to the Roman Republic. 

5. Cleopatra VI 40 drachma decent condition for the type 

6. 3 Flavians in As. I cheated here. I looked for nice portraits here. 
 

7. Mithridates II drachm awesome toning

8. Macedonia Tetradrachm. Nice condition with nice golden toning just a beauty to look at.

9. Carthage Trishekel time of Hannibal and Carthage shekel. Awesome looking coins.

10. Mausullos drachm awesome figure in history and beautiful coin. 

Bonus that didn't make the cut

1. Pius and Marcus Aurelius denarius I won this at auction for $45! Nice portrait of young Marcus Aurelius the Pius side is a bit worn.

2. Faustina II denarius lovely purple toning. 
 

3. Augustus denarius Actium 

4. Caligula with Antonia Macedon provincial

It's been a very exciting and somewhat expensive year for me. Next year targets will be 3 flavians in sestertii, some big Greek silver (undecided yet), Roman Egypt, and a coin of Sulla.

I vote the Brutus denarius. Important character in the history of Rome. Very interesting type and the reverse of this coin may have helped to identify the issuer the mysterious Koson stater.
