Why Saladin coins disappeared ?

Hello everyone

I want to ask your opinion about the extreme difficulty of finding Saladin coins ! why ? I read in one forum, that such coins are being used in some secret rituals ! and that rich investors and NOT collectors are the ones draining them from the market !

I searched on ebay and true, you can hardly find any, and if so, they are so expensive.

What is your intake ?

He is very famous, so people will pay more for his coins, and I don't think there ever were many available anyway. The cheaper fals struck under him don't have his name on them, which makes the silver and gold even more expensive. They might also be sold under his name al-Nasir Salah al-Din Yusuf, or Nasir Yusuf I, which makes them harder to find.

Very true, what about the rumours about these coins being sought after for use in some secretive rituals for secret societies !
