Robi Posted November 19, 2024 · Member Posted November 19, 2024 (edited) By accident, I once came across such a coin - I thought it was Antiochus IV, but it turns out now that it is a great rarity: COMMAGENE. Sames II Theosebes Dikaios, c. 130-109 BC. Dichalkon (Bronze, 4,56 g.), Samosata (?). Radiate head of Sames II to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΣΑΜΟΥ // ΘΕΟΣΕΒΟΥΣ / ΚΑΙ ΔΙΚΑΙΟΥ Nike walking to left, holding wreath; in exergue, ΓΛ. HN p. 774 (but misattributed). The only quotation I found - the coin was sold for 1,700 CHF plus the auction fee. And now the question: I'm going to sell it. Will be gratefull, If you try estimate the price appropriately, it is known that the condition is slightly worse than the one from the auction, artificial patina. I would be grateful for a hint!
