So, I was tinkering with the idea of animating my coins, to bring them to life (it feels like the natural step after colorising them), although I soon found out that it it a painstakingly slow process (manually isolating the various elements and animating them).

Before I go down that road and lose my sanity, has anyone of you had any experience with AI services that (preferably for free) animate static pictures? I feel like if we feed them some colorised coins they might just be able to identify the subject and animate it accordingly. Something like this for the obverses (crudely done with my smartphone):

Or maybe some easy to recognise reverses:

I’m not looking for anything overly complicated, just some slight movement, and I feel like AI is getting good enough that it should recognise the shapes and be able to create some interesting effects.

Can anyone give it a try and see if anything comes up? I can provide some colorised coins if you want! (And maybe crop them better / isolate the various elements if the whole coin distracts it!)

While I can't offer anything concrete, I've been looking into something similar myself.

This is next on my project list. My current one is adding timelines for my coins (example for anyone who cares).

I'd be curious to learn what you find out, and otherwise will let you know where I get once I start that project ideally next week or the week after.
