Hi I bought 2 Ptolemic coins at a coin show from a dealer. They kind of look fishy but I took the risk.  The big one is Ptolemy III and it's 37mm and 40 grams around. The smaller one features cleopatra I as Isis and is 24mm and I haven't weighed it yet because Its soaking in distilled water. The surfaces just look fishy to me.

Nice little chonkers!

No issues with the surfaces here. That's how most Ptolemic bronzes look after 2,000+ years under the sand.

Part of the allure of these, and Seleukids, for me anyways, is figuring out just what I've got. And you'll have the best look at the coins, having them in hand. Here's the best way, I've found, to identify your Ptolemic coins:

Maybe sand cast fakes idk. I guess they're real. Which is kinda insane because they were $5 each.

Flea market finds? That is a steal. I agree with @Ryro that the coins appear genuine.
