JAZ Numismatics Posted November 5, 2024 · Member Author Posted November 5, 2024 Hm. Maybe you have to have the font installed on your computer, but I'm seeing it on my phone. Quote
Bannerknight Posted November 5, 2024 · Member Posted November 5, 2024 Probably you would need to have it installed. I doubt my browser fonts include Nabatean. Nor does Word when I tried. Quote

I can use a transliteration on the forum. 1 Quote
JAZ Numismatics Posted November 5, 2024 · Member Author Posted November 5, 2024 Here's a screenshot. Nice font, even if it doesn't work in all settings. Definitely using to catalog my Nabataeans... 2 Quote
ACCLA-Mike Posted November 5, 2024 · Member Posted November 5, 2024 You can download the font here. Installation is fairly simple. Just click on "get font" on the right hand side, then click on download to get the zip file and "see how to use" to install. https://fonts.google.com/noto/specimen/Noto+Sans+Nabataean 3 Quote
maridvnvm Posted November 5, 2024 · Member Posted November 5, 2024 For what it's worth I see it on PC (Windows 11/Firefox) and phone (Android) with no additional fonts installed. 2 1 Quote
panzerman Posted November 5, 2024 · Member Posted November 5, 2024 Anyone know how to install Medieval script/ numerals? Quote
quant.geek Posted November 6, 2024 · Member Posted November 6, 2024 (edited) I would check outย https://mufi.info/q.php?p=mufiย for Medieval fonts...As for the OP, I can't see it on my computer, but it works on my phone. Fonts are finicky, especially for obscure scripts. The answer is to download Noto-based fonts to fix the issue as pointed out already... Edited November 6, 2024 by quant.geek 2 Quote
Factor Posted November 6, 2024 · Member Posted November 6, 2024 Works on my phone, didn't need to install anythingย 1 Quote
mcwyler Posted November 6, 2024 · Member Posted November 6, 2024 (edited) I think sometimes a document will have the font (or the bits of it you use) embedded within it, making it portable. I think that's one reason a doc file will be so much larger than just the text.ย Maybe the same trick is used for html? Anyway If you have a modern android phone all Noto fonts are installed by default. ย Incidentally, @Bannerknightย those funny boxes that appear if your computer can't render a glyph are called "tofu" for some reason. And the Noto family of fonts was so named to signify "No Tofu". You really needed to know that didn't you? Edited November 6, 2024 by mcwyler 2 1 Quote

Benefactor DonnaML Posted November 6, 2024 · Benefactor Benefactor Posted November 6, 2024 It worked on my Android phone, but not on my desktop (Windows 11 with Chrome). Interesting that it apparently works on Firefox, which I abandoned years ago. 2 Quote
