TIF Posted November 3, 2024 · Supporter Posted November 3, 2024 It's an Alexandrian tetrdrachm, Tyche on reverse. It's difficult to make out the obverse legend due to the corrosion, but I'll give it closer look when I've had some coffee :). Tyche standing is a very common reverse for these mid to late Alexandrian tets. 1 1 Quote
TIF Posted November 3, 2024 · Supporter Posted November 3, 2024 (edited) Maximus, as Caesar. Issued regnal year 4 of Maximinus I, AD 237/8. The obverse legend is ΓΙΟVΛOVHPMAΞIMOCKAI, which upon expanding the squished-together abbreviations and translating, equals Gaius Julius Verus Maximus Caesar. The reverse legend is L Δ (regnal year 4). Emmett 3335. Edited November 3, 2024 by TIF 4 1 Quote
