I don't post a lot on the ancients portion of this forum but I like coins with provenance, especially when it is related to the history of collecting and dealing. I picked up the above coin because of the Max Mehl conection.

Ptolemaic, Ptolemy VI; Sole Reign, 163-145 BC, Tetradrachm, 13.30g. SNG Cop-244-5. Obv: Diademed head of king r. with aegis. Rx: ΠTOΛEMAIOY - BAΣIΛEΩΣ Eagle standing l. on thunderbolt, date LIC in l. field, ΠA in r. field. With old 2x2 paper envelop, handwritten by the famous Fort Worth coin dealer B. Max Mehl, c. 1920s-1940s.

That's a very nice example!  I remember that it was part of the HJB listing of ancient coins with old dealer envelopes.

As I recall the envelope that accompanies this coin is really nice.
