I got an email from Frank Robinson this morning stating his next auction in early December is going to be primarily on biddr. Basically you can still email or phone in your bids but biddr will be turned on at the end of the auction so folks can bid and snipe in real time. I foresee an era of higher prices and greater realized value for Frank, but bad news for those of us who won in his auctions due to bidder ennui or simple forgetfulness and lack of attention to detail on the part of others.

The end of an era indeed. Thoughts?

If you're right that this will result in better prices for Frank, obviously for less effort, then it's a no-brainer for him! I look forward to one day winning that lonely coin of his that nobody else wants...

Indeed, it is! Frank's auctions had a feel of when you were a kid and would send in box tops of your favorite cereal to get or prize, or when you would call into the radio station to make a request for a girl that you liked that you knew was listening to the same station. Now it's just more of the same. Ah, crap. That sounded boomerish. Not getting any younger.

Ah, cha cha!
