edteach Posted October 23, 2024 · Member Posted October 23, 2024 Not in the best condition but for $10 I think I did OK. 8 Quote
John Conduitt Posted October 23, 2024 · Supporter Posted October 23, 2024 I have one of these. Less nice still, although I got mine from my family. 6 Quote
CPK Posted October 23, 2024 · Supporter Posted October 23, 2024 Neat! Last year I won this 1733 George II ha'penny from cgb.fr for 7 euros. I need to update the photos. 5 Quote
maridvnvm Posted October 24, 2024 · Member Posted October 24, 2024 I have a soft spot for these coins. My father was a builder and was renovating a row of Georgian period cottages that were being completely modernised. I must have been aged about 9. My father came home one evening with the remains of an old cloth bag with about 20 copper coins in it, none in good condition, which he had found under a floorboard on the stairs that were being removed. These were all pennies and halfpennies dating between 1797 and 1806. That was my first introduction to old coins and the seed was planted. I still have the coins somewhere. 2 1 1 Quote
