-monolith- Posted October 21, 2024 · Member Posted October 21, 2024 I rarely collect "late" Roman Imperial coinage but I will make an exception for error coins. Recent additions to my mint error collection: 8 Quote
Postvmvs Posted October 21, 2024 · Member Posted October 21, 2024 I was the underbidder on the reverse brockage. Glad it went to a good home! 2 Quote

I was underbidder on several of the other error coins before that one. Now I wish I would have bid higher, but I had other auction wins to pay for. 1 Quote
Postvmvs Posted October 22, 2024 · Member Posted October 22, 2024 I believe I was the beneficiary... So thank you for not bidding more! 😄 6 Quote
Orange Julius Posted October 22, 2024 · Member Posted October 22, 2024 Nice coins, that reverse brockage is very cool. With Claudius II coins, a more scarce mint error would be a coin with no clashed dies, full legends on a round flan. 😁 3 2 Quote

You can see a faint ghosted image of the obverse portrait incused behind the portrait of Spes. His nose is under her right elbow with his forehead in front of her face and the rays (radiant) of his crown running the length of her head and left arm. 1 Quote

It’s virtually as struck and silvered but still a mess with a clashed die, ragged flan, legends drifting off flan, etc. I really like Claudius II coins, but I’d guess more of the ones in my collections have clashed die reverses than not! 1 Quote
