AncientCoinnoisseur Posted September 21 · Member Share Posted September 21 (edited) For my 7th attempt at colorising my coins I decided to go with my last Greek coin before moving on to my Romans. I have always found the Histiaia design fascinating, so without any further ado, here the result and my reference images used: Continental Greece. EUBOIA, Histiaia. AR Tetrobol, c. 338-304 BC. Obverse: Head of the nymph Histiaia to right, her hair rolled and bound up on the top of her head, wearing a wreath of grape leaves, a pendant earring and a pearl necklace. Reverse: ΙΣΤΙ - ΑΙΕΩΝ, Nymph seated right on stern of galley, holding stylis in her left hand and resting her right on the deck; on the side of the stern to left, wing; below, monogram. HGC 4 1523. AR. 2.21 g. 15.00 mm. Choice example. Light cabinet tone with iridescent hues. EF. References used: EDIT: Her nose in the reverse does remind me of someone: Edited September 21 by AncientCoinnoisseur Minecraft Villager
