ela126 Posted September 20 · Member Share Posted September 20 Just to spark some conversation. Cruising this weekend's auctions and i saw this unassuming coin with more bids than someone would expect. For the reverse type, combined with the mintmark, this is a rather rare bird. I think per @Valentinian website guidance, this coin is from 529-531. biddr - Aphrodite Art Coins, Auction G2, lot 1240. Justinian I (527-565). Æ 10 Nummi (22mm, 3.80g). Theoupolis (Antioch). Pearl-dia... Antioch fans certainly have noticed it. Curious where this will land.
O-Towner Posted September 20 · Member Share Posted September 20 (edited) Not only the reverse legend, but the obverse legend is also off which is actually not that unusual for these early Byzantine types. That being said it is quite a scarce type. Edited September 20 by O-Towner
