I was enquiring about an inexpensive sestertius, and the dealer replied ultimately that I should probably just pass on it.  I value patinated coins with the minimum level of cleaning that it takes to get it ready.  BD is also a big deal-breaker for me.  This particular one had little wear, but a lumpy smoothing job, was stripped, and the old corrosion pit indicated that BD was probably once a problem.  The price was very cheap, relatively speaking.  HOwever, I don't think I would have been happy with the piece.  The dealer made the right call and I look forward to doing business with him in the future.  I really appreciate an upfront dealer; that heads off a lot of potential disappointment.  That indicates that customer service is probably good, as well.
