SC1985 Posted June 25 · Member Posted June 25 Dear Forum- Members! I would like to know what you think about the origin (mint) of the Half- Siliquae of Majorian. As I know, there are two different positions: One said it is Northern Gaule, the Other it is the Area of Arles. Best regards, Stephan. 2 1 Quote
John Conduitt Posted June 26 · Supporter Posted June 26 (edited) Where would it be in northern Gaul? Perhaps it was more likely in the south, on the way to Hispania. Arles was the site of a major battle (Battle of Arelate 458) when he might've struck coins and could even still have had a treasury. Edited June 26 by John Conduitt 2 Quote
rasiel Posted June 26 · Member Posted June 26 They're not half siliquae. Just that the siliqua was made smaller due to inflation. As for the mint locations, impossible to tell but Arles would be a good guess. Rasiel 2 Quote
