Good Morning...

I don't think anyone here will order anything from this shop - but you never know, so I'd better put this warning against this fake shop once.

It's about the shop "Old Coin Price".
https://oldcoinprice.com/product-category/ancient-coins/

The shop owner has stolen pretty much all the coin information (pictures, headlines, description) - from us VCoins dealers and our shop pages - and lists them in his shop. He doesn't use anything of his own - it's all copied. We are currently trying to take action against the shop somehow - which is of course difficult as the location is probably India.

Probably no one here will order from this shop - but still a warning, it is enough if only one collector does not fall for this fake shop.

I was wondering if the plan was to act as a middleman (dropshipper), once you ordered from him at an elevated price, he would order from the relevant legitimate shop and have the legitimate shop ship it to you. The owner of this site would then take the profits.  However, the prices are also identical so it seems you simply won't receive anything if you order from here!

It would sound logical - if he were acting as a middleman (as you say).

He offers the service for the Indian region - takes over the purchase, the shipping, the customs, the fees - for the customers from the Asian / Indian region - and then charges the customer 150 euros for a 100 euro coin.

That would be logical. He didn't ask us traders if he could use pictures, overprints and texts - but it would sound logical.

But exactly - he charges the same prices - without profit. One trader on VCoins told us that he even offers lower prices on his coins!

By the way, that's how the whole thing "blew up"!

A customer wanted to order a coin from a VCoins trader. But then he turned down the VCoins dealer because he found the exact same coin cheaper in this Indian shop! Then the VCoins dealer looked and discovered this shop - and all his coins as a 1:1 copy in this Indian shop! That alone is the reason why we discovered this shop in the first place.

But no matter how and why - the warning remains, of course. With this amount, he can't check which coins are still in stock or already sold on VCoins. As it looks - he simply copied the entire VCoins shop.

So of course it remains the same - don't order anything there!

The next problem that we VCoins traders have just discovered.

Many traders - including me - have their company logo or even the company name as copyright protection in the images. The scammer also uses these images.

So it COULD look to the layman like this shop is a similar portal to VCoins - where well known dealers offer their coins. If a customer orders and does not get any goods - the impression could arise that the customer ordered on this platform directly from the trader (as with VCoins) and now does not get his goods from the trader (and not the operator of the fake shop is guilty).

As it looks, this man has copied all the merchants from VCoins.

Therefore, do not be deceived when you see coins in this Fake Shop with company logos or names of well-known and reputable traders!

Here's another one. This one seems to be scraping eBay listings but has absolutely nothing to do with the actual owners of the coins. I spotted this today because I bought the coin below directly from the owner who is a friend. I was pretty shocked to find his pictures and his coin listed here. I will not be linking the store as Id rather not help them show up better in search results but people should always be skeptical of where they're buying coins.
