Mike Markowitz has written a CoinWeek article on the Ancient Coins of Pompey the Great. It's a very informative article with some lovely coin photos. Here are just a couple from the article.

Gold aureus for the triumph of Pompey the Great, 71 BCE. Numismatica Ars Classica.
Aureus issued at Rome on the occasion of Pompey's triumph in 71 BCE.

Silver Denarius. Cn. Calpurnius Piso for Pompey the Great. Corcyra mint, 48 BCE. Image: Roma Numismatics.

Some great coins in there for sure.  Thanks for passing that on @Roman Collector.

Here are mine; since they weren't in the article I thought I'd throw them in.  A posthumous denarius issued by his son in Sicily:

Wonderful coins pictured in that article. One slight correction: I don't think it's quite accurate to say that Crawford is long out of print and very expensive. There was a reprint just a couple of years ago, and, more importantly, it's now possible to buy both volumes as a pdf.

My local public library has Crawford on the shelf (both volumes, original 1973ish printing)!  I've checked it out a bunch over the past 30 years.  Good to hear it is available as a pdf - that would be handy to have.

It's not what I would call inexpensive, but the download is available at the Cambridge University Press website. It costs less than a hard copy set if you can find one.
