expat Posted July 9, 2023 · Supporter Share Posted July 9, 2023 (edited) Got hold of 6 AS, all unattributed, for less than 60 Euros. I identified 5 but this one has me stumped. It is in spec for size and weight of an AS and I am leaning toward Lucius Verus. Over to you wonderful and knowledgeable people. akeady Posted July 9, 2023 · Supporter Share Posted July 9, 2023 It looks like Victory and a trophy on the reverse, rather than Marcus & Lucius. Based on this, the only possibility I see on OCRE is RIC 1448. http://numismatics.org/ocre/id/ric.3.m_aur.1448 ATB, Aidan. 3
CPK Posted July 9, 2023 · Supporter Share Posted July 9, 2023 Ha, @akeady beat me to it. It seems to be a somewhat rare type, too. Congrats!
expat Posted July 9, 2023 · Supporter Author Share Posted July 9, 2023 @akeady and @CPK thanks guys. For less than 10 Euros it might be worthwhile to have it cleaned a bit.

The only detraction is the rough surface, and cleaning won't help that! Sounds like you got a nice deal. I'm a fan of middle bronzes, can we see the rest of them? 🙂

Don't expect too much for less than 10 Euros a coin, lol
CPK Posted July 9, 2023 · Supporter Share Posted July 9, 2023 Agree with @Severus Alexander; it looks more just rough and corroded rather than encrusted with deposits. Trying to clean it may only damage the surface and make things worse. It's not bad at all everything considered, the portrait is pretty good, and the reverse is fully identifiable. For 10 euros I'd say it was a good buy. 🙂
expat Posted July 10, 2023 · Supporter Author Share Posted July 10, 2023 @Severus Alexander as requested here are the other 5. Other than identifying the emperor/empress I have not attributed them further
expat Posted July 10, 2023 · Supporter Author Share Posted July 10, 2023 The Hadrian appears to have a Horus reverse, which again, seems to be not very common. Regardless, holding this bunch of history in my hands, is worth every cent paid.
Severus Alexander Posted July 10, 2023 · Supporter Share Posted July 10, 2023 Thanks for posting, @expat! It's true, they do have a lived-in look. 😄 Nothing wrong with that! I think I like the Hadrian the best, although the Antoninus Pius is nice too. (Incidentally, I wonder if you might be trying to focus your phone camera too close to the coin? You might have better luck with a stack of books to hold the phone a bit further away. Even if the resolution is a bit lower the focus will more than make up for it.)
