maridvnvm Posted June 20, 2022 · Member Share Posted June 20, 2022 I have posted a few coins in a couple of threads on my findings from a biscuit tin of mixed world coins that I bought many years ago. I thought it would be worth creating a thread to share my findings as I work through the ones I have picked out as being of initial interest. I will start with the USA coins. There are 8 Large cents:- 1828 1838 1848 1849 1851 There is also an 1867 2 Cents that has seen some life. 18

norantyki Posted June 20, 2022 · Member Share Posted June 20, 2022 (edited) @maridvnvm the first of your Canadian Cents appears to be one of the varieties (tough to say for sure / which one without any enhanced photos of the second 9. Could you perhaps post a close-up (of good resolution) of the second 9, that way I can pop out my Charlton and let you know 🙂 Edited June 20, 2022 by norantyki

norantyki Posted June 21, 2022 · Member Share Posted June 21, 2022 (edited) Now, I will preface this by saying that it could be 'crud' playing tricks on me, and so I offer this potential attribution with the caveat that I would need the coin in hand to be sure. This being said, it appears to be the 'narrow 9 over inverted 9' variety - note that although not identical to the illustrated, I have found slight variance in many of these over the years. This type rates quite highly in the cat (around 40x the basic type). Potentially nice find! Edited June 21, 2022 by norantyki
