Need some help on attributing this Roman Republic coins please.

I seem to be picking up a few more Roman Republic coins lately and staying away from the Imperial coins.

I bought this just because I liked the way it looked and for no other reason, I would like to attribute it and put it into my collection display tray so I am needing the help from this awesome forum.

I believe this is a Sextans and I am having a hard time with the monogram in front of the galley prow on the reverse. The most common monogram I have found so far is the MA that belongs to the praetor P. Manlius Vulso but it does not really look like the MA I am seeing on the coins I have seen. Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I am at my mobile phone and dont see exactly all details ... could it be - that it was Crawford 38/5 ....?

http://numismatics.org/crro/id/rrc-38.5

1. Mercury? Checked
2. Two Denominational marks above? Checked
3. Prow? Checked?
4. ROMA Above? Checked
5. Two Denominational marks under Prow? Checked

I think so - but can look after dinner again on my pc.

Hello Prieure de Sion and thank you for your help!

None of the ones in the link you posted have the monogram in front of the galley like mine.

Open CRO Online.
See the search field above right side.
Fill in: "Mercury Prow"

Have fun with the 6 founding sites 😄

Like this one with monogram. its possible that it will be a "AVR" Monogramm:

Sorry - I would help you more - but on smartphone its difficult with the details. But search with "Mercury Prow" and look the 6 sites - you will find your specimen - I am sure.
