Roman consul (Brutus ?) accompanied by two lictors advancing left. Monogram B (?) to left. The Inscription reads: KOΣON for KOSON.
 
Reverse:
Eagle on scepter to the left, holding wreath in its claw.

Reverse- King standing facing and sacrificing at altar holding trident, with Nagari legend 'jadeva' bottom right.
Nice full legend coin.

I remember buying this coin along with one other. The pictures provided by the auction house indicated that this coin should not have been as darkly toned as it turned out to be, and the other one should have been darker than it was.

 Other: 12 o'clock

=> a choice specimen with good legend and the king's name spelled fully (OOhMO KAΔΦICHC). Hard to find examples nicer than this

Value mark XI below. Struck late third century BC.

(A seemingly obscure Sikel city but one that had a moment or two of glory after a quick capitulation to the Romans when  it was granted Latin Rights before the rest of Sicily and was a civitas immunis ac libera sine foedere (free city exempted from tax).

Cicero once described it as being by far the largest and richest city of Sicily. Move over, Syracuse...)
