Rome mint

Diameter: 33 mm

Weight: 25.60 grams

Obverse: Statue of Augustus seated left on throne, holding laurel branch and scepter, set on ornate car drawn by four elephants, each with its own mahout

Reverse: Legend around large S C

Reference: RIC I 68 (Tiberius)

Other: 12h ... light brown patina, minor roughness, deep punch mark on reverse

Roman Republican. Anonymous (Rostrum Tridens Series). 206-195 BC. Æ As (34mm, 28.88g, 1h). Sextantal standard. Rome mint. Obv: Laureate head of bearded Janus; I (mark of value) above. Rev: Prow of galley right; above, rostrum tridens and I (mark of value); ROMA below. Ref: Crawford 114/2; Sydenham 245; RBW 523. Rare. Good Fine. Dark green patina with light earthen highlights/deposits, some minor roughness. Ex-Goodman collection with his ticket, which indicates SPAN.Coll.86/22. Ex Old Roman Coins, Feb 2004.

"Decimus Junius Silanus was the son of M. Junius Silanus, who commanded the army that was defeated by the Germanic Cimbri in Transalpine Gaul.

Decimus was the stepfather of Marcus Brutus, the murderer of Caesar, having married his mother Servilia. He was elected consul in 63 for the following year ; and in consequence of his being consul designatus, he was first asked for his opinion by Cicero in the debate in the senate on the punishment of the Catilinarian conspirators. He was consul 62, with L. Licinius Morena, along with whom he proposed the Lex Licinia Julia".

Contemporary copy Arcadius..

Ob....DNARCA-DIVSAVG (or similar). Note the usual "PF" is missing......You dont see these very often with full obverse legend!

Rev..Prototype is SALVS REI-PVBLICAE, perhaps Nicomedia with staurogram in left field and [S]MN[A/B/Γ] in exergue.

You didn't specify the city, so here's the personification:
