This is my only Fallen Horseman coin. I should probably upgrade down the line but there's something charming about this coin. It has every single detail clear to exactly ID it, but hardly anything past that!

Based on the observation of another example minted with the same dies and with a visible exergue on reverse, the Antioch's third officina provenance of this coin is now certain. Thanks to Myriam at Nummus Bible II forum for her perspicacity and for providing me with the information

Well this is nearing on 6 hours, so I will put this call out- can any friends here help ID this mystery coin? It's been in my collection for years now and I've never been able to nail down a proper ID for this. I've tried every Numista search possible, sifted through bronze coins, but never found a match. At this point I'd guess it is a token or jeton- simply for a lack of anything else I can find. But I'd love to be proven wrong or even have an idea of who is on this coin.

The closest I think is it resembles the early coinage of Elizabeth II, given her younger bust facing right, maybe an issue of one of the colonies?

This obscure provincial of Plautilla was sold at auction as "Faustina II," apparently because the person writing the catalog description thought every empress with her hair in a chignon is Faustina! :yuck:
