Wonderful examples shown above. I have one I am very fond of. A lot of wear, attractive toning but still recognisable for what it is after 2000+ years.
L. TITURIUS L. F. SABINUS. Denarius (89 BC). Rome.
Head of Tatius right, SABIN behind, A.PV before / L TITVRI in exergue, Tarpeia buried to her waist in shields, fending off two soldiers about to throw their shields on her. Tituria 5
sear5 #252,Cr344/2c, Syd 699a.
( 3.69 g. 19.4 mm ).
In Roman legend, Tarpeia, daughter of the Roman commander Spurius Tarpeius, was a Vestal Virgin who betrayed the city of Rome to the Sabines at the time of their women's abduction for what she thought would be a reward of jewelry. She was instead crushed to death by Sabine shields and her body cast from the southern cliff of Rome's Capitoline Hill, thereafter called after her the Tarpeian Rock (Rupes Tarpeia).- 11

Yowie, @expat, that's what we needed all this time! It's been dormant a while, but I'm a Crusaders fan. But only c. mid-late '70's, along with one cassette maybe all the way back to the '60's, when they were still the Jazz Crusaders. Love the horns. But who is the singer on this?!!!? ...Think I'll just have to look it up.
Congrats on the very solid Hetoum & Zabel; I can't not be impressed how comprehensively you arrived at the attribution, outside your usual collecting field.
Thanks, but Numista is a great place to start on just about anything. I didn´t actually listen to that one before I posted. I assumed it would be Randy Crawford.

I will join in.
I got this coin a couple of weeks ago as a birthday present. My friend who bought it was not aware that Sasanian coinage is not in my collection interests. Apparently, there were a number of coins from this King and the one before him that had similar obverse die damage. I actually like it.
SASANIAN KINGS. Ohrmazd (Hormizd) IV (579-590). Drachm.
( 4.11 g. 32.8 mm ). .900 Silver
Obverse
A portrait of the king facing right wearing a crown with two teeth, a crescent and a globe. To the left of the crown there is a star, and to the right a crescentwith a star. "Royal ribbons" flow from his shoulders. Above his left shoulder there is a crescent. His hair is in a bun and his face bearded. There is a necklace around his neck. There is a single rim around the portrait. Behind the rim are three crescents with star.
Pahlavi legend
Reverse
A fire altar "atasdan" with two straight standing figures. The column of the fire altar is covered with ribbons with the ends upwards. To the left of the fire there is a star, to the right a crescent. There is a single rim around the portrait.- 5

Here is an Antoninus Pius with numerous die cracks forming on the reverse between legend and border. The most striking though starts at the last O of CONSECRATIO, up to the altar, then from the top of alter to the underside of the eagle, and continues from the top of the eagles shoulder to its beak.

The engraving of his dies was certainly impressive. Certainly not surprising that they are collectible.
To my understanding I believe I have 1 fake. I base this on the extensive list of images of this type, even though there is not an example that exactly matches a die shown on the list of fakes.
